A leading supplier of bakery technology was looking for a maintenance-free solution for its new automated system for handling dough trays. The aim was to reduce wear on trays and racks and to create a hygienic, safe and quiet environment. The system had to be suitable for the food industry and not require additional lubricants or be susceptible to contamination such as flour dust. Previously used methods did not offer the desired combination of durability and hygiene. It was also important to optimise operating and maintenance costs by keeping the machine elements as trouble-free as possible.

To fulfil the requirements, iglidur IC-05PF coating was used. This is used on racks in the system, which first lift and position the dough trays in the pre-buffer zone before they are lowered back onto the conveyor belt in the post-buffer zone. The racks are equipped with the wear protection coating, which not only extends the service life of the trays, but also ensures low-friction handling.

The iglidur IC-05PF coating offers further advantages: It is self-lubricating, which means that no external lubricants are required - a decisive factor in the food processing industry in order to fulfil hygienic standards. The coating also protects against dirt and deposits such as flour dust, which ensures the long-term functionality of the system.
