Selection of the appropriate twisterchain

1. Determine series and chain width

Specify the cables to be harnessed in the chain. The layout and the largest cable diameter determine the series and chain width required. We recommend that for the inner height you allow a cable clearance of approx. 20% of the chain's inner height and width. This means that, for a cable diameter of 30 mm, for example, series 3808 should be selected.

2. Determine outer and inner radii

Determining the assembly space (dimension X₁ and X₂)
example: α = 220° / max. cable diameter 24 mm -> series 2808
X₂ = 580 mm -> AR = 500 mm
X₁ = 310 mm -> IR_min. = 390 mm -> selection chart -> 392 mm

3. Determine bending radius R

H_F = 460 mm -> H max. 410 mm -> R = = 178 mm -> R175* results in: part number 2808.087.175/500
*next smallest radius

4. Calculate necessary number of links

The resulting number of links should always be rounded up.
The mounting brackets can be mounted only to the outer links of the twisterchain. For this reason, the number of links must always be increased to the next odd number.

RLK = Distance to pivot/mounting holes on the outside

Generally information for twisterchain:
In the case of machine elements that travel in a circular movement both to the left and to the light, the total angle of rotation is calculated by adding the two angles.

The following space is absolutely required to enable the chain to function properly:

IR_min. = X₁ + 80 mm

X_{2 min} = AR + 80 mm

H_F = H + 50 mm
